
Florida’s Savannah Jordan & Betsy Middleton on CoSIDA Academic All-America Team

GAINESVILLE, Florida – A pair of University of Florida juniors – Savannah Jordan and Betsy Middleton – both are part of the 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-America Women's Soccer second team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced Tuesday.

The pair are the first Gators to earn Academic All-America honors since Stacy Bishop earned a spot on the 2006 third team. Florida now has a total of seven named to soccer's Academic All-America teams since 1996.
Jordan, the Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Year, is second in the nation in both goals (24) and points (55). Middleton has equaled her collegiate-highs for goals (3) and set her season-high for points (8) in 2015. She is one of nine among the three Academic All-America teams with a 4.0 grade point average.
Both earned All-SEC Academic honors in 2014, with Jordan appearing on the SEC Academic Honor Roll. Middleton was on the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll, as she transferred to UF for the 2014-15 academic year after playing her freshman season at Miami.
The pair are part of the Florida soccer team which posted a 3.41 grade point average in fall of 2014 and 3.35 in the spring of 2015. UF earned a spot in the 2014 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award. Programs with a 3.0 or better GPA are named to the annual list.
