Kaylan Marckese is one of 24 players heading to U.S. Olympic Training Center for U-18 Camp
Freshman goalkeeper Kaylan Marckese is taking part in a U.S. Under-18 Women's National Team training camp next week at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California.
At the end of the camp, the U-18s will play the San Diego Sea Lions on Dec. 19 at 9 p.m. ET at Cathedral High School. The U-18s are coached by U.S. Soccer Women's Technical Director April Heinrichs.
As a freshman, Marckese appeared in 17 matches, playing the entirety of 15. Her goals-against-average of 0.85 ranked third in the Southeastern Conference (all matches) and stood No. 6 among NCAA Division I freshmen goalkeepers. In the final full weekend of regular-season league action, Marckese turned in 11 saves, including a collegiate-high six in a 4-0 shut versus Arkansas. In that match against the Razorbacks, Marckese became just the third Gator goalkeeper to earn an assist.
