Gator Softball to Implement New Fan Access Policy
Thursday, February 12, 2015 | Softball
Gainesville, Fla. – With patron safety in mind, a new fan entry process for all home Gator softball games starts this Friday for the 2015 season.
Over the past few years, there has been a growing number of fans who wait at the Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium front gate as much as six hours prior to the first pitch. To help fans avoid standing outside for a lengthy time, a ticket numbering system will be in place for all home games.
Distributed beginning four hours before first pitch, this ticket will essentially reserve their place in line for entrance once the gates open. The ticket is free of charge and there will be one (1) ticket distributed per fan. Each fan must be present to receive a ticket. The tickets will be numbered 1-200, which reflects the position in line.
The 200 tickets is equal to the number of seats in the middle section, directly in front of the press box. To guarantee a spot in line, each fan must return 15 minutes before the gates open and form a line in the designated area. Fans will be asked to show their ticket and line up from 1-200. Fans who line up before gates opening will be allowed to enter first and make their way to the seat of their choice on a first-come, first-serve basis.
This policy will be in effect only when Florida plays the first game of the day. No tickets will be distributed during the Aquafina Invitational Feb. 20-22. Also, tickets will only be distributed once before doubleheaders.
