
Three Gators head to Norway with U.S. U-23 National Team for Four Nations Tournament

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - A trio of Gators is off to the Land of the Midnight Sun today to play with U.S. Soccer's Under-23 National Team in the Four Nations Tournament. Rising seniors Claire Falknor and Christen Westphal are joined by rising junior Savannah Jordan's on the U.S. U-23 Women's National Team's 22-player roster. The tournament will be contested in Norway's southeast region.
The U.S. opens the competition on May 27 against the Sweden U-23 WNT at Fredrikstad Stadium, faces England on May 29 at Sarpsborg Stadium, and finishes up the three-games-in-five-days set on May 31 against England at Fredrikstad Stadium.
As a junior, Falknor was an All-Southeastern Conference second team selection as a defender. Falknor did play the majority of the season as a center back, but also had a pair of starts at left back. She started every match, playing entirety of 19 matches and led the Gators with her average of 89.0 minutes per match. She provided the assist on Jordan's game-winning goal versus No. 22 Georgia.
Jordan is the first Gator to earn NSCAA All-America honors in her first two seasons with Florida. As a sophomore, Jordan shared the SEC points (46) and goals (19) lead, scoring goals in 15 matches. In final NCAA statistics – No. 8 in goals and No. T-7 in points. She was among the 16 semifinalists for the 2014 Missouri Athletic Club-Hermann Trophy – collegiate soccer's highest individual honor. She appeared on the All-SEC first team for the second consecutive year. Jordan was part of the U.S. roster at the FIFA U-20 World Cup last August.
Westphal earned All-SEC first-team for second consecutive year in 2014. She played the entirety of 17 of 23 matches at center back and was second among the Gators with average of 87.3 minutes per match. She earned All-America honors in 2013.
