Murphy, Yeguete Wrap Competition at World University Games

Alex Murphy and Will Yeguete both competed in the World University Games at Gwangju, South Korea, with Murphy leading Finland to a 14th place finish (out of 23 teams) and Yeguete helping France to fifth place.

Alex Murphy and Will Yeguete both competed in the World University Games at Gwangju, South Korea, with Murphy leading Finland to a 14th place finish (out of 23 teams) and Yeguete helping France to fifth place.

Murphy finished the event averaging 20.0 points and 7.3 rebounds in six appearances as the Finland team posted a 3-5 overall record. Murphy posted three games with 24 or more points, including a 30-point, 13-rebound outburst against Chinese Taipei. Murphy also had a double-double with 25 points and 13 boards in the opener vs. Japan.

For the French team, Yeguete averaged 7.1 points and 7.0 rebounds, including a 19-point game vs. Lithuania and 10 rebounds against Japan.

Finland and France both competed in the same preliminary group, with France taking the head-to-head matchup, 85-47.

Gold, silver and bronze medals at the event were won by the USA, Germany and Russia, respectively.
