UF Homecoming Week Activities
Monday, October 10, 2016 | General, Football, Chris Harry
The annual Homecoming Parade is Friday at noon.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — After a bizarre, mostly (and thankfully) uneventful few days, Florida football is back on line this week.
But instead of the normal routine, the No. 18 Gators (4-1, 2-1) have homecoming to deal with in the run-up to Saturday's 4 p.m. Southeastern Conference East Division showdown against Missouri (2-3, 0-2). Extended weather forecasts look spectacular for the slew of activities on the slate, which is good news for fans. And football.
Here are some details of those activities.

Extended weather forecasts look spectacular for the slew of activities on the slate, which is good news for fans. And football.

- Gator Gallop, Friday, 11:15 a.m. The 2-mile family friendly fun run takes place on the UF campus, starting at Pressly Stadium and ending at the Plaza of the Americas. Pre-registration is $15 and goes to $20 on race day. To sign up, go here.
- Homecoming Parade, Friday, noon. Immediately following the Gator Gallop, UF football icon Steve Spurrier will serve as grand marshal and lead the line of floats, spirit squads and mascots down University Avenue. More details here.
- Gator Growl, Friday, 6 p.m., Flavet Field. Rapper Waka Flocka Flame will headline a night of entertainment, along with performances by Passion Pit, Timeflies and Maddie and Tae. Also on the program will be a performance from spirit squads, a salute to the 2016 national championship men's track and field team, plus the 2016 football seniors. More details here.
- UF vs. Missouri, 4 p.m., Steve Spurrier-Florida Field (SEC Network). After an unplanned open date due to the threat of Hurricane Matthew, the Gators are back on the field and very much back in contention in the SEC East following Tennessee's loss at Texas A&M. If UF can defeat Mizzou and No. 1 Alabama wins at UT, the Gators will assume control of their fate in the division race. The game also will feature a 10-year anniversary celebration of the 2006 national championship squad, with members of that team invited back. Tickets for #MIZZvsUF are still available.
