Gators Release Depth Chart for LSU
Monday, October 3, 2016 | Football
Lots of questions still to be answered this week as Florida is dealing with a myriad of injuries.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- As Florida continues to deal with the injury bug, the Gators depth chart holds a lot of question marks heading into Saturday's game against LSU.
There's a potential change at quarterback this weekend, as graduate transfer Austin Appleby may make his third-straight start, or Luke Del Rio could return from an injury he suffered late in Florida's week three contest against North Texas.
After right guard Tyler Jordan returned from injury last weekend against Vanderbilt, the Gators will look to rotate playing time between Jordan, sophomore Fred Johnson and rookie Jawaan Taylor on the right side of the offensive line.
The running back and wide receiver positions remained unchanged from a week ago.
Defensively, Florida's defenisve line is banged up with veterans Joey Ivie and Jordan Sherit out for at least the next two weeks. In their absence, Cece Jefferson, Khairi Clark and Taven Bryan all found more time on the field last Saturday. In addition, true freshman Antonneous Clayton appeared in a game for the first time this season at Vanderbilt.
With five sacks through five games, the Gators will continue to lean on redshirt freshman Jabari Zuniga who leads all FBS freshmen and is tied for 12th among all FBS players in that category this season.
