
Reese's Grand Slam Lifts Blue over Orange

Sophomore Blake Reese blasted a grand slam over the scoreboard in right field on Friday to lead the Blue team to a 7-3 win over the Orange team in Game 2 of the annual Orange & Blue Series.
The final game of the series is scheduled for Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. at McKethan Stadium. It is free and open to the public.
The Blue team got on the board first as Reese scored on a double from Deacon Liput. Liput then came home on a sac fly from Nelson Maldonado.
An RBI single from Nick Horvath got the Orange team on the board in the second inning. In the third, Ryan Larson had an RBI single to tie the game at two.
Christian Hicks broke the tie in the fifth inning with an RBI single that scored Maldonado. Reese's grand slam later in the inning broke the game open.
Jonathan India's RBI single in the final inning added a run for the Orange side.
On the mound, sophomore Jackson Kowar started for the Blue side and pitched three innings with two runs allowed. In relief, freshman Austin Bodrato pitched two scoreless innings and freshman Billy McKay tossed two innings and allowed one run.
For the Orange team, Horvath pitched four innings and allowed two runs. Freshman Nick Long pitched three innings with five runs allowed.
