Gators Release Depth Chart for Florida State

Florida will have a new starting safety as Nick Washington is out with an injury.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Quarterback Austin Appleby made his fourth start for the Gators last Saturday and his second straight in place of the injured Luke Del Rio.
Unlike a week ago when Appleby tossed for 201 yards and two touchdowns against South Carolina, the North Canton, Ohio native managed the game against LSU. The Purdue graduate transfer did not turn the ball over, handed it off to a Florida's surging running back, Jordan Scarlett, and completed only the second-longest pass in program history.

Oh, and he led the Gators to their first win in Death Valley since 2009.
With that performance, Appleby remains at the top of Florida's depth chart at the quarterback position while Cleveland has moved ahead of senior wide receiver Ahmad Fulwood at the Z-position.
In front of Appleby on the offensive line, Florida will remain very similar to last week. David Sharpe, Martez Ivey, T.J. McCoy, Fred Johnson and Jawaan Taylor are all healthy and ready to go this week. Meanwhile, sophomore Tyler Jordan is back and will likely see time in the rotation and on special teams.
Defensively, redshirt junior Nick Washington is the latest Gator to go down, as he sustained an injury that will keep him out of this weekend's game at Florida State. With senior Marcus Maye already out for the season, redshirt junior Marcell Harris will continue to sure up the back end of Florida's defense while junior Duke Dawson and rookie Chauncey Gardner will both see time at the other safety position on Saturday.
