
Cameron, McFarland Post Florida Top 10 Marks at Virginia Tech Elite

All three Gators who traveled to Blacksburg recorded personal records in their events
BLACKSBURG, Va. – The University of Florida throwers turned in a successful weekend at the Virginia Tech "Doc Hale" Elite Meet, with all three competitors recording personal records in their respective events, including two marks that cracked the program's all-time indoor top 10.
Friday (Feb. 5) evening, redshirt freshman AJ McFarland topped his weight throw personal record by 1.22 meters. The throw of 18.98 meters also elevated him from No. 10 to No. 6 on Florida's all-time top 10.
Sophomore Lloydricia Cameron posted a personal record in the weight throw, then followed it up with the No. 9-ranked shot put mark on UF's all-time indoor top 10 on Saturday (Feb. 6) afternoon. Cameron's throw of 16.30 meters ranks No. 22 on the NCAA Indoor Descending Order List and garnered runner-up honors at the meet.
Redshirt freshman Jontavia Dykes competed in the weight throw, shattering her previous personal record by nearly six feet. Dykes' top mark was 17.81 meters.
