
Finney-Smith, Allen Earn SEC Accolades

Senior leader earns second-team All-SEC; Young scorer named to SEC All-Freshman team
For the third straight season, Dorian Finney-Smith has earned postseason honors from the Southeastern Conference. On Tuesday, the senior was named second-team All-SEC for the second year in a row after being the SEC Sixth Man of the Year in 2014.
Allen earned placement on the SEC All-Freshman team, making eight of the past nine years that a Gator freshman has earned that honor.
The pair were Florida's top two scorers in SEC action this season, as Finney-Smith averaged 15.4 points and Allen scored 12.3 points per game. Finney-Smith is also the Gators' top rebounder for the third straight year, averaging 8.2 boards per game this season.
The Gators (18-13, 9-9 SEC) open SEC Tournament action in Nashville on Thursday at 1 p.m. Eastern (noon local), facing Arkansas at Bridgestone Arena. The winner of that game gets a date with co-SEC champion Texas A&M on Friday.
