Freshman Lindsey Ronbeck scored five goals and had seven points in the 15-5 mid-week win.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida freshman Lindsey Ronbeck powered the No. 2 Gator lacrosse team to a 15-5 victory over Marquette with a career high five goals and seven points in mid-week action Wednesday at The Diz as the Orange and Blue improved to 13-1 on the season, and kept a clean slate at 4-0 in BIG EAST action.
Ronbeck, whose seven points were the most for a Gator in a game this season, scored four of the Gators first seven goals, including the first two of the game, as Florida worked a shutout first period for the 12-0 lead at the half. Ronbeck found Carli Marsh for the junior's fourth goal this season, and the final score of the first half, before adding her fifth goal and second assist on Nicole Graziano's behind-the-backer in the second half.
Florida's 13-1 start to the 2016 season is on track with 2013's impressive 17-1 start. Wednesday added to the success as the Gators won the draw control, the battle for ground balls and went 4-for-6 on free-position shots against the Golden Eagles.
Per usual, freshman Haley Hicklen started the second period in the cage for the Gators after senior Mary-Sean Wilcox (13-1) controlled a perfect first half with three saves. Sophomore Olivia Cole closed out the final 7:33.
After Graziano's trick shot gave Florida the 15-0 lead with 17:46 remaining in the second, Marquette scored the final five goals of the game, but not before the Gators made it back-to-back games with the whole team contributing. All 29 available players saw action in Florida's 13th win of the 2016 season.
It's back to the road for Florida with match-ups at Villanova (4/16) and Cincinnati (4/20) before the Gators' regular-season finale and Senior Day April 24 at The Diz versus UConn.

O'LEARY ANALYSIS
"Overall I am thrilled with our team's effort today. We came out of the locker room to start the game and put up some great goals. Marquette is really well-coached and has some great players. We responded well. Offensively we were very unselfish. I'm pleased with the way we competed from grabbing ground balls to winning the draw controls -- across the board we did a great job. This team is on a roll."
