GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 1-ranked University of Florida women's tennis team swept the No. 25 Syracuse Orange on Saturday afternoon at the Ring Tennis Complex. With the win, the Gators advance to the NCAA Round of 16 in Tulsa, Okla. on Thursday.

Sophomore Josie Kuhlman was next to put a point on the board with a 6-1, 6-2 defeat of Libi Mesh on court five. Keegan would clinch the match for Florida and punch the Gators' ticket to Tulsa, Okla. with her 6-2, 6-3 win over Maria Tritou.

UF has advanced to the NCAA Round of 16 now 33 times in 35 NCAA Tournament appearances. The Gators are 29-3 in Round of 16 matches and will play the Stanford Cardinal. Florida fell to Stanford at the Taube Family Tennis Center, 4-3 on Feb. 28 which was the Gators' last loss since going on an 18-match winning streak.

Head Coach Roland Thornqvist

On the match win and advancing to Tulsa for the Round of 16…
"Today, we are pleased to have advanced to Tulsa. It was hot. We got the type of weekend here we were hoping for. It was hot and humid. Our players handled it really well. We played okay in doubles but I thought we played better doubles than singles, in my opinion. We were a little in and out at times and made too many unforced errors. Obviously, we played well enough to advance and showed great depth in our singles lineup."
