2016 NCAA Tournament Bracket
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – For the 14th consecutive season, the University of Florida softball team will host an NCAA Regional at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium. The Southeastern Conference champion Gators earned the No. 1 national seed in the 2016 NCAA Tournament, marking the fourth time in the program history that UF has been seeded first (also: 2008, 2009, 2015). The Orange and Blue (53-5) will host squads from Alabama State (28-25), Florida Atlantic (50-7) and UCF (36-20).
The Regional will run Friday thru Sunday in a double-elimination format. Florida's selection marks the 17th year overall that the Gators will host a regional, including all 11 seasons of Head Coach Tim Walton's UF tenure.
In addition, Florida's four No. 1 overall seeds have come in the NCAA Super Regional era, meanwhile no other team has accomplished that feat more than once.
