BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- University of Florida golfer Sam Horsfield was named the SEC Freshman of the Year, the league announced Wednesday. Horsfield also received First Team All-SEC and Freshman All-SEC honors, while junior Ryan Orr was selected to the conference's community service team.

Florida will learn which of six possible sites it will travel to for the NCAA Regional Championship when regional selections are announced on Golf Channel's Morning Drive show at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. The six regional tournaments, held May 16-18, will feature 81 teams and 45 individuals competing to earn one of 30 team and six individual spots in the NCAA Championship in Eugene, Ore., May 27 – June 1.

- No. 7 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR)
Ryan Orr – SEC Community Service Team
- Participates in the Goodwill Gators program, which provides opportunities for student-athletes to give back to the community
- Heavily involved in volunteer efforts at J.J. Finley, a local elementary school where he logged more than 25 hours this year
- Assisted with the Miracle on Main event that gave families the opportunity to shop for holiday presents donated from the community and provided gifts for more than 1,000 kids
- Also gave a stadium tour, volunteered at an LPGA Golf event and worked with Gator Move, an initiative to educate and encourage healthy lifestyles for children
- Represents the men's golf team on UF's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
- 2015-16 marks the second-straight season Orr was named to the SEC Community Service team
