LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A national-high tying four University of Florida softball players appear on the 2016 NFCA All-America teams, announced by the organization on Wednesday afternoon.
Florida is tied with Michigan for the most All-America selections in the country.
Two Gators were named to the All-America First Team ballot, including sophomore Aleshia Ocasio and junior Delanie Gourley. In addition, sophomore Kayli Kvistad earned Second-Team honors, while Amanda Lorenz, the NFCA and Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year, received Third-Team accolades.
This is Ocasio's second All-America honor, as she was named to the 2015 team. Meanwhile, Gourley, Kvistad and Lorenz all make their first appearance on the All-America lists.
Lorenz is Florida's second freshman position player to earn All-America accolades in program history and the first since Aja Paculba in 2008.
Florida now has 34 All-America honors by 18 players during Head Coach Tim Walton's 11 seasons. In total, UF owns 35 All-America accolades in the school history. Additionally, the Gators have had multiple All-Americans each year since 2007.
Below is a glimpse at the season and career highlights for each of Florida's 2016 All-Americans:
Delanie Gourley
First Team All-American
- Finished the season with a 19-4 record with a team-high 224 strikeouts in 157.2 innings pitched
- Among the conference's best in ERA (second, 0.80), victories (T-11th, 19), strikeouts (second, 224), saves (T-4th, 5) and opposing batting average (second, .141)
- Her ERA ranks second in the country and only behind her teammate, Aleshia Ocasio (0.77)
- In addition, her earned run average goes down as the fifth-best in a single season in program history
- Her opponents' batting average against (.141) is the second-best mark in a single season in UF lore
- Her ERA ranks second in the country and only behind her teammate, Aleshia Ocasio (0.77)
- Recorded her second no hitter of the season and third of her career against Mississippi State in late April
- Joined Hannah Rogers as the only Gators to throw three no hitters. In addition, she's one of four Gators (Hannah Rogers, 2013; Stacey Nelson, 2009, Beth Dieter, 2000) to throw two no hitters in one season
- Tossed five one-hitters this season
- Combined with freshman Kelly Barnhill for a Florida single-game record 18 strikeouts against FAMU on March 6
- Registered a career-high 16 strikeouts in Florida's final regular season series against Arkansas.

Aleshia Ocasio
First Team All-American
- Recorded a 22-2 record this season with a team-best 0.77 ERA in 146.1 innings pitched
- Ocasio's earned run average goes down as the third-best in a single season in program history and is currently ranked as the second-best mark in the country
- Ranks among the conference's best in ERA (first, 0.77), victories (sixth, 22), strikeouts (10th, 147), saves (T-2nd, 6) and opposing batting average (fourth, .183)
- Earned two wins and one save in 10 shutout innings at LSU and recorded a pair of wins in Florida's SEC opening series at Auburn
- Against Jacksonville on Feb. 17, she recorded the 16th no hitter in Florida history and the first since her teammate Delanie Gourley threw one in the 2014 NCAA Regional against Florida A&M (May, 16). A hit batter in the first and a walk in the fourth were the only base runners allowed.
- Her no-no was the first in a home opener in program history
- Honors:
- USA Softball Player of the Year Top Three Finalist

Kayli Kvistad
Second Team All-American
- Among the SEC leaders RBI (T-11th, 60) and on-base percentage (12th, .500)
- One of eight hitters who had an on base percentage above .500 in conference play and ranked third with 27 RBI during league games
- Recorded a team-high 11 home runs, 60 RBI and .637 slugging percentage
- Did not play a defensive inning this season, as she has been Florida's DP throughout the entire season
- Recorded a five RBI performance in UF's series opener against Mississippi State
- During that contest, she recorded her third-career and second multi-home run game of the season
- With two outs in the 7th inning and the score tied in UF' series opener at No. 3 Auburn, she hit a go-ahead three-run home run to propel the Gators to victory
- Honors:
- First Team Academic All-American
- Became the ninth UF softball player to earn Academic All-America honors and first since Michelle Moultrie in 2012
- First Team All-Southeast Region
- First Team All-SEC
- First Team Academic All-American
Amanda Lorenz
First Team All-American
- Among SEC leaders in hitting (.403, ninth), OBP (.528, sixth), runs scored (56, T-12th), hits (73, seventh), doubles (14, T-9th) and walks (48, fourth)
- Became the fifth Gator to record a .400 batting average during a single season and the seventh to register a .500 on base percentage. More specifically, Lorenz's .528 OBP ranks second all-time in Florida history for a single season and her 48 base on balls is tied for third in program lore.
- Lorenz did usurp Kelsey Stewart's UF freshman batting average record (.379), as Lorenz hit .403 this past season. She also ranks third in runs scored (56), third in hits (73), tied for second in doubles (14) and first in walks (48) in Florida's freshman record book.
- Started and hit second, third, fourth or fifth in every game this season for the Gators
- Did not commit an error in 49 chances in the outfield this season
- In Florida's series opener at Texas A&M, Lorenz recorded a career-high four RBI as she hit her first-career grand slam in the sixth inning. In game two of that series, Lorenz sparked a two-run rally in the sixth inning when she led off the inning with her first-career triple.
- Lorenz earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors on April 25 after she posted a .364 batting average with four hits, three runs and five RBI against USF and Mississippi State. In addition, she recorded a pair of game-winning home runs against USF and MSU, with one coming in walk-off fashion.
