GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida track and field program totaled 34 United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-America honors for the 2016 outdoor season, including a nation-leading 31 first-team honorees. The Gators also nabbed three USTFCCCA Honorable Mention accolades.
UF's men, who won the program's third NCAA Outdoor Championships crown since 2012 and sixth overall national title since 2010—both of which lead Division I during their respective timeframes—boasted a nation-leading 16 first-team honorees and a pair of second-team laurels.
National champions Arman Hall (400 meters) and Eric Futch (400-meter hurdles), along with runner-up finishers KeAndre Bates (triple jump), TJ Holmes (400-meter hurdles), and the 4x400 relay team of Kunle Fasasi, Hall, Hugh Graham Jr., and Najee Glass, headlined the group of 16 first-teamers.
Florida's women amassed 15 first-team nods, another nation-leading figure, as well as one second-team plaudit.
Freshman Yanis David turned in the highest finish on the women's side, placing third in the triple jump.
Hall was one of four men to collect at least three first-team accolades, while Claudia Francis and Robin Reynolds were two of the nine women with three such honors.
First-team honors were awarded to all eight finalists, while second-team honors were awarded to the other eight competitors who cracked the top 16 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
