The recent UF graduate is the 54th Gator to be awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida is excited to announce that the NCAA has awarded Brianna Morgan with a postgraduate scholarship. Morgan, a psychology major on the women's tennis team, has achieved a slew of accolades on and off the court in the areas of athletics accomplishments, academic focus and community service. The $7,500 will assist Morgan as she pursues a graduate or professional degree in the near future.
The NCAA awards postgraduate scholarships to student-athletes who are in their final year of college athletics eligibility. Up to 175 scholarships are awarded each year for use toward an accredited graduate program. Awardees are evaluated on their academic and athletics achievement, campus involvement, community service, volunteer activities and demonstrated leadership. The program rewards college athletes whose dedication and effort reflect the characteristics needed to succeed in postgraduate study.
Awardees are chosen by the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Committee, which includes faculty athletics representatives, athletics administrators and a conference representative.
Morgan is the 54th Gator to be awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, the first since 2014 and the third in Gator women's tennis history, joining Stephanie Nickitas (1999) and Divya Merchant (1997).
She was a member of three Southeastern Conference championship teams (2013, 2014, 2016) and a pair of SEC Tournament titles (2013, 2016) during her Gator tenure.
