GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Four of Florida head football coach Jim McElwain's assistant coaches have signed contract amendments in 2016.
In response to multiple media requests seeking those amendments via Florida's open-record laws, the University Athletic Association filled those requests Monday afternoon.
The most notable development is that Gators defensive coordinator Geoff Collins is now among the highest-paid assistant coaches in college football. Collins joins a club ($1 million per season) that included only nine assistants in 2015 according to USA Today's salary database.
Here are the 2016 salaries of Florida assistants who have recently signed contract amendments or, in the case of secondary coach Torrian Gray, his initial UF contract after joining the Gators from Virginia Tech:
Editor's note: UF football coaches salaries also include various provisions such as car allowances, equipment supplements and academic incentives that can increase total value.
*Retention incentive included in Shannon's original contract; due $125,000 retention bonus in February 2017 if still on staff.
