Former Gators QB Treon Harris To Transfer

Harris started 15 games over last two seasons
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Treon Harris won't be playing receiver for the Gators. Or any other position.
Harris has been granted a release from his scholarship and will transfer. Harris took over as the starting quarterback last season after the midseason suspension of starter Will Grier.
Monday's news was first reported by 247Sports.com and later confirmed by the Gators.
Harris appeared to be Florida's quarterback of the future in 2014 when he replaced a struggling Jeff Driskel at Tennessee and led the Gators to a comeback win. However, Harris struggled on and off the field at UF and was not part of the team during spring camp.
Harris started 15 games over the past two seasons and appeared in 21 games overall. He completes his Florida career with 2,695 passing yards with 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Harris also rushed for 570 yards and three touchdowns in his two seasons.
