Dressel collected his second gold medal of these Olympic Games
RIO DE JANEIRO – Rising junior Caeleb Dressel earned his second gold medal for his freestyle leg of the 4x100 medley relay heats on Friday (Aug. 12), while Gator Great Genevieve LaCaze became the first Australian in history to advance to the 3,000-meter steeplechase final in Saturday's (Aug. 13) Gator Olympics action.

- Gator Great Genevieve LaCaze (Australia) logged a runner-up finish in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase preliminary, automatically advancing to the final. Her time of 9:26.25 was the 11th-fastest time of the preliminary. LaCaze is the first Australian to qualify for the final since the women's steeplechase was added to the Olympics in 2008. Monday morning's final is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. ET on NBC.
- Rising senior Andres Arroyo (Puerto Rico), who became the first man from his country to ever advance past the opening round of the 800 meters, finished seventh in his semifinal heat and did not advance to the final. Arroyo, the second-youngest runner remaining in the 24-man field, clocked in at 1:46.74.

Swimming
- Caeleb Dressel anchored Team USA's 4x100 medley relay team in Friday's heats, in which the stroke order is backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle. Dressel split 47.74 on the freestyle leg, helping the Americans win their heat in a time of 3:31.83. Although Dressel did not swim in the final, Team USA took home the gold medal, giving the rising junior his second gold medal of these Olympic Games.
