GAINESVILLE, Florida – A goal in each match of the season-opening weekend gives University of Florida senior Savannah Jordan the Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week award, the league office released this afternoon. This is Jordan's seventh SEC Offensive Player of the Week honor of her career.
The other players picking up weekly honors are Mississippi's Marnie Merritt (Defensive) and Arkansas' Stefani Doyle (Freshman).
Jordan's Performance Last Week:
Jordan scored the final goal in each of Florida's wins last weekend – 5-2 against Iowa State on Friday and 3-0 win over Florida Atlantic on Sunday. She also registered four assists on the weekend, including a career-high three in Friday's win.
Those offensive points moved Jordan up on Florida Career Charts for goals and points. She moved past Gator Great Danielle Fotopoulos to take the No. 3 spot on Florida's Career Goals list at 67. The eight-point weekend moved her into a tie for fourth with Fotopoulos on the Career Points chart at 156.
Jordan holds the same spots on the Southeastern Conference career goals and points charts. The top six players on both charts are Gators.
Next up for the Gators:
Florida begins a six-match road stretch with a trip to the Golden State. The Gators face preseason No. 5 Stanford on Friday, Aug. 26 at 11 p.m. ET. Then Florida will meet UCLA on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. ET. Both matches air on the Pac-12 Network.
