Austin and Keegan Ready for U.S. Open Debut

FLUSHING, NY – Gator junior Brooke Austin and senior Kourtney Keegan have earned a wild card into the main draw of the 2016 U.S. Open Women's Doubles Championship.
Thanks in part to winning the 2016 NCAA Doubles Championships in May, the Gator pair was awarded a slot into the professional grand slam event that got underway on Mon., Aug. 29 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, N.Y.
Austin and Keegan drew another wild card duo in their first round match, as they will square off against Asia Muhammad (USA) and Taylor Townsend (USA). The winner of their first-round bout will meet No. 15 seeded Kiki Bertens (NED) and Johanna Larsson (SWE), who advanced with a 6-4, 6-2 win in their opening match.
The date, time and court of Austin and Keegan's first round match is still pending. The singles portion of Thursday's schedule has been released, with the doubles assignments still to be determined.
