He can now be chosen by fans as the Quarterback of the Week
NEW ORLEANS – After his 320-yard, four touchdown performance to help Florida defeat SEC opponent Kentucky, quarterback Luke Del Rio has been named as one of eight Manning Award Stars of the Week.
The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in 2004 to honor the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It has recognized quarterbacks from 11 different schools and four different conferences. In addition to the Manning Award's yearly honor, each week during the regular season, eight quarterbacks are recognized as Manning Quarterbacks of the Week.
With his Star of the Week honor, Del Rio is now eligible to win the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week, which is determined by fan voting. To vote, visit the Allstate Sugar Bowl on Facebook, "like" the page and "like" the photo of the quarterback who you think had the best performance this past weekend. When voting closes on Thursday at noon, the top vote-getter will be announced as the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week.
Including Del Rio, the eight Manning Award Stars of the Week are:
Austin Allen, Arkansas (17-of-29, 223 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 85.9)
Allen rallied the Razorbacks to a thrilling upset victory of No. 22 TCU, throwing for a touchdown with 1:19 to go and then catching the two-point conversion pass to force overtime, where he threw for one touchdown before running for the game-winning score in the 41-38 victory.
Luke Del Rio, Florida (19-of-32, 320 yards, 4 TDs, 1 INT, QBR: 89.7)

Joshua Dobbs, Tennessee (10-of-19, 91 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT, QBR: 78.9)
Dobbs also ran for 106 yards, setting Tennessee's career rushing record for quarterbacks, and two touchdowns as he helped the Volunteers overcome a 14-0 deficit in a 45-24 victory over Virginia Tech before a record 156,990 fans at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Quinton Flowers, USF (21-of-33, 350 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 88.1)
Flowers, who also rushes for 53 yards, accounts for 403 of his team's 658 yards as the Bulls roll to a 48-17 victory over Northern Illinois despite missing their star running back due to injury.

Jackson, who rushes for 199 yards and four touchdowns, opens the game with a 72-yard passing score, followed soon after with a 72-yard rushing TD, as he leads Louisville to 845 yards of offense in a 62-28 ACC road victory over Syracuse.
