Gators Host Mountain Dew Invitational Saturday Morning

Florida's women will look to defend its title from a year ago, while the men are eyeing a victory after consecutive runner-up finishes

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida men's and women's cross country teams will welcome nearly 30 collegiate programs and upwards of 100 high school programs for the Mountain Dew Invitational, which is scheduled for Saturday (Sep. 24) morning at the university's Mark Bostick Golf Course.

On the men's side, the Gators, along with Florida Gulf Coast and North Florida, all of which are ranked in the top 15 of the latest USTFCCCA South Region Rankings, headline the competition. The women's side are regionally-ranked Florida, Florida State, and UCF.

UF's men and women both won their season-opening races at the Covered Bridge Open three weeks ago.

Since Florida's home event was renamed the Mountain Dew Invitational in 2005, the women have won 10 titles, including victories each of the past two years
