Gators Voted No. 4 in Perfect Game Preseason Poll

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida was named No. 4 in Perfect Game's NCAA Division I Preseason Poll released on Wednesday. Head coach Kevin O'Sullivan's club had previously been tabbed No. 3 in Collegiate Baseball's preseason poll.

Since the Perfect Game poll started in 2015, the Gators have ranked in the top four each year during the preseason (2016-No. 1; 2015-No. 4). Florida joins four other Southeastern Conference programs in the Top 25: No. 2 LSU, No. 5 South Carolina, No. 8 Ole Miss and No. 9 Vanderbilt.

Florida will host four Top 10 opponents in McKethan Stadium this season, with No. 3 Florida State coming to Gainesville March 14 in addition to SEC series against No. 2 LSU (March 24-26), No. 5 South Carolina (April 20-22) and No. 8 Ole Miss (May 5-7).

The Gators open the 2017 season on Feb. 17 against William and Mary at McKethan Stadium. Season tickets and Mini Plans for the 2017 Gator Baseball season are on sale now and can be purchased online through FloridaGators.com or by calling the Gator Ticket Office at 1-800-34-GATOR from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Last season, UF went 52-16 and ranked sixth in the final Perfect Game Top 25 poll. After losing eight players to the 2016 MLB Draft, the Gators squad will be bolstered by 13 newcomers.
