GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A pair of Gators –
Alicia Boren and
Alex McMurtry - picked up Southeastern Conference Gymnastics weekly honors, the league office announced Tuesday. Boren is the SEC Gymnast of the Week and McMurtry claims the SEC Specialist of the Week.

The duo claimed each individual honor in Florida's 197.325-194.30 win at North Carolina Friday. Boren receives her first SEC Gymnast of the Week honor and McMurtry picks up the sixth Specialist of the Week honor of her career.
Boren's Performance:
Boren used collegiate-bests to win both all-around (39.625) and floor exercise (9.95) at North Carolina on Jan. 20.
The all-around win was her second and first of the season. Her all-around total ties for the nation's sixth highest of 2017. It is the highest all-around total turned in by a SEC gymnasts so far this season.
It was Boren's first floor title of her collegiate career.
She also used 9.925s to take second on vault and beam plus was third on bars (9.825).
In the current national rankings, Boren is No. 8 in all-around, No. T3 in beam, No. T4 in vault and No. T16 in floor.
Boren shares first among the 2017 Gators with five event titles (2 beam, 1 vault, floor, all-around).
MCMURTRY'S PERFORMANCE:
McMurtry appeared in three events at North Carolina and won each title. She opened the meet with a 9.90 on uneven bars to win her third consecutive meet title for the event this season.
She anchored the Gators vault lineup with a season-best 9.95 for her Yurchenko full twist. That mark is a perfect mark for that vault, as its start value was set to 9.95 beginning for the 2016 season. As a freshman in 2015, McMurtry did score a 10.0 for her Yurchenko full.
She also anchored Florida's balance beam lineup with a collegiate-best 9.95. Of McMurtry's last 12 beam performances, she's turned in a collegiate-best 9.95 six times.
McMurtry holds the following national rankings: No. 6 vault, No. 6 bars and No. T14 on beam.
McMurtry shares first among the 2017 Gators with five event titles (3 bars, 1 vault, beam).

Friday's meet is also Florida's first of six consecutive dual meet appearances on the SEC Network. Bart Conner and Kathy Johnson Clarke will call the action with Laura Rutledge reporting from the sideline.
