GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Softball season ticket holders are able to start renewing their seats for the 2018 Florida softball season beginning next Wednesday (Oct. 18).
"Last year we received amazing support from our season ticket holders and fans at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium." Florida Head Coach Tim Walton said. "The energy and excitement from Gator fans really helps fuel us on the field and we look forward to having that elite level of energy for a competitive 2018 season."
In 2017, fans provided an electric atmosphere to play in while also setting stadium attendance records against Georgia (2,497) and later versus Florida State (2,574). Florida ranked seventh nationally last year as an average of 1,500 fans trekked to KSP Stadium to see the Gators in action.
Fans renewing or looking become new season ticket holders should contact the Gator Ticket Office for more information.
Looking Ahead To 2018
This upcoming season, Florida is tabbed to play 28 games in front of Gator fans at KSP Stadium. Those contests include six games during the Aquafina Invitational (Feb. 23-25) against Iowa State, Maryland, Illinois State and Georgia Southern.
Also, UF will host key Southeastern Conference matchups against Kentucky (Mar. 9-11), Texas A&M (Mar. 23-25), South Carolina (Apr. 13-15) and LSU (Apr. 27-29). The weekend of Mar. 30-31, the team will break away from SEC competition to host Hampton and Jacksonville.
The action packed schedule also includes a series of midweek games versus North Florida (Feb. 14), Oakland University (Feb. 21), USF (Mar. 21), FIU (Mar. 28) and the annual Fresh from Florida Sunshine Showdown against Florida State (Apr. 25). The Gators take on FSU (Apr. 11) earlier during the season in Tallahassee, Fla.
Away from KSP Stadium, the Gators schedule is equally as competitive. UF will travel to compete at USF's tournament (Feb. 9-11) to start the season and the Judi Garman Classic (Mar. 1-3) in Fullerton, Calif. before conference play begins.
The SEC road slate for the Gators this year consists of trips to Georgia (Mar. 16-18), Alabama (Mar. 6-8), Mississippi State (Mar. 20-22) and Missouri (May 4-6).
Other road contests include a series against the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (Feb. 17-18) and a solo game at UCF (Apr. 4).
The SEC Tournament this season is scheduled to take place May 9-12 in Columbia, Mo. before NCAA Regional (May 17-19) play starts.
