
Vale and Kessler continued their impressive doubles run with a 6-4, 6-2 victory
Perez advances in singles; Two doubles teams advance to quarterfinals of ITA All-American Championship

TULSA, Okla. – The second day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Championship Main Draw came to a close on Friday. Alfredo Perez advanced to the round of 16 in singles, while the doubles pairs of Perez and Johannes Ingildsen, and McClain Kessler and Duarte Vale reached the quarterfinals.
For the second day in a row, the Gators have been impressive in doubles play. The fourth-seeded pair of Perez and Ingildsen punched their ticket to the quarterfinals after defeating Murkel Dellien and Marius Frosa of Wichita State. Perez and Ingildsen took set one 6-1 but fell in the second set 3-6. In the tiebreak, Perez and Ingildsen's experience was on full display as the pair battled for a 10-6 victory in the set and the match.
Kessler and Vale faced off against Northern Arizona's Tim Handel and Ruben Montano in the second-round of the ITA All-American Championship. Kessler and Vale looked strong throughout the match earning a 6-4, 6-2 match victory.
Chase Perez-Blanco and Andy Andrade took on Juan Carlos Aguilar and Jordi Arconada of Texas A&M. Both duo's advance to the main draw after winning three matches in the qualifying round. After falling 6-1 in the first set, Perez-Blanco and Andrade fought back in the second set and played well but fell just short of winning the second set, falling 7-6.
In singles play No. 4 seed Alfredo Perez held the torch for the Gators as the only singles players left in the winner's bracket. In the second round of the main draw, Perez faced Jackie Tang of Columbia. The match didn't last long, as Perez made it look easy with a 6-1, 6-1 victory.
Johannes Ingildsen played in the singles consolation bracket after a tough 6-1, 6-1 defeat in the opening round of the main draw to the No. 4 seeded player in the tournament. In the first round of the consolation bracket, Ingildsen matched up against Vinny Gillespie of Drake. Ingildsen defeated Gillespie in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1.
