Men’s Tennis Captures Two Championships on Sunday

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. – The Gators closed out the fall portion of the schedule on Sunday, earning titles at both the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Fall National Championships presented by Oracle and the Dick Vitale Invitational.
At the ITA Fall National Championships in California Chase Perez-Blanco and Oliver Crawford competed for a consolation doubles crown. The duo was matched up against Cormac Clissold and Thomas Laurent of the University of Oregon.
The Gator duo has been playing some of their best tennis the last few days and once again were locked in from the first serve. Perez-Blanco and Crawford took the match by scores of 6-2, 6-3 to earn the consolation doubles championship.

Dick Vitale Invitational
Florida entered the Dick Vitale Invitational on Sunday with a chance to bring home a trophy in both singles and doubles.
In the singles championship, Andy Andrade was up against Mattias Siimar of Michigan, a competitor he had played in doubles just a few hours before his singles match.
Andrade lost the first set 2-6 but didn't quite, winning the second set 6-3. In the third and final set, Andrade beat four match points to stay alive before eventually taking the set 7-5 and leaving the Dick Vitale Invite as a champion.
In doubles, the No. 1 seed of Jordan Belga and Andrade took on the No. 2 seed of Siimar and Carter Lin of Michigan. The Gator pair didn't fare well in the doubles match, falling by a score of 8-5.
