GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Marlee Zein, a five-star player from Sugar Land, Texas, has signed a National Letter of Intent with the University of Florida, coach Roland Thornqvist announced today.
Zein (pronounced ZAIN, like rain) will be a member of the 2018-19 Gator squad.
Zein is currently ranked a career-best No. 6 in the national recruiting rankings, while earning the No. 2 ranking among all players from the Gulf States region and the state of Texas. She's also currently listed No. 35 in the Nov. 9 USTA Girls' 18 Singles rankings.
In 2016, Zein was one of 30 players in the country named to the first-ever USTA Junior Leadership Team, which recognizes America's finest junior tennis players who exhibit leadership, sportsmanship and character on and off the court.

- Singles semifinalist at the Pan American ITF Championships (October)
- Reached round of 16 at the Abierto Juvenil Mexicano, a Grade A event
- Advanced to round of 32 at two Grade 1 events: Eddie Herr ITF and the USTA International Spring Championships
- In Doubles won the Canadian Saville ITF U18 and was a runner-up at the Davis Trading Junior ITF Vancouver Championships
- Doubles quarterfinalist at the Mundial Juvenil de Tennis (January) and the Easter Bowl Championships
