Jeremy Postin's school record stood for just four years, with AJ McFarland setting a new standard Friday night
BLACKSBURG, Va. – Florida redshirt sophomore AJ McFarland broke the weight throw school record Friday (Feb. 3) night, highlighting the throwing corps' trip to the Virginia Tech "Doc Hale" Elite Meet this weekend.
The throw also ranks 11th nationally, keeping McFarland in contention for an NCAA Indoor Championships berth.
Saturday's (Feb. 4) action saw freshman Connor Bandel once again set a personal record in the shot put. Junior Lloydricia Cameron did not improve on her season-best mark, but she won the shot put title with the third-farthest throw of her indoor career.
Florida fully returns to action next Friday (Feb. 10) and Saturday (Feb. 11) at the Tyson Invitational and Iowa State Classic. Continue to check FloridaGators.com for more details on the upcoming meets.

McFarland entered the meet ranked third on UF's all-time indoor top 10 and with a personal record of 21.20 meters (69 feet, 6.75 inches).
