Florida's men are the reigning outdoor national champions
ORLANDO, Fla. – Coming off a runner-up finish by its men's team at NCAA Indoor Championships, the Florida track and field program begins its outdoor campaign Saturday (March 18) afternoon at the Black & Gold Challenge, hosted by UCF.
Florida's men are the reigning outdoor national champions.
All the Gators competing in Orlando this weekend are members of the program's middle distance or distance corps. Some will be running as part of their training models, while others are opening the season in their primary event.
The group is headlined by sophomore Jack Guyton, who finished fifth in the mile at SEC Indoor Championships, and senior Taylor Tubbs, an NCAA Outdoor Championships qualifier in the 5,000 meters last year. Both are running the 800 meters this weekend. Senior Amber Johnson, a surprise finalist in the 1,500 meters at SEC Outdoors a year ago, will open the season in her main event.
Action gets underway for the Gators at 2 p.m. ET. See the links below for live results and meet information.
