Coach Rowland Says:
"We are excited to have this event here in Gainesville, It is wonderful we don't have to travel. We can sleep in our own beds, we can stay on our daily schedules – it is a great advantage for this team. It is the perks of hosting. We are very fortunate that the University of Florida welcomes these opportunities for its teams. We are looking forward to an exciting event in Gainesville." – Florida Head Coach
Jenny Rowland

NCAA Regional Competition Info:
Last year, UF won the program's 16
th NCAA Regional title in Minneapolis, Minn., to advance to its 34
th  NCAA Championships. Florida took fourth in the 2016 NCAA Super Six team final, held in Fort Worth, Texas.
Â
Each of the six regions have three teams among the nation's top 18, with one team each from the nation's No. 1-6, No. 7-12, and No. 13-18 ranking positions. The final three spots in each regional were filled from teams ranked 19-36 by regional qualifying score. The committee tried to keep those teams within their own region as much as possible.
Â
The 2017 Gainesville Regional contains two teams that advanced to the 2016 NCAA Super Six team final – Florida and Georgia. Three other teams among the field will look to return to NCAA Championship action - Missouri (2010 – last appearance), Penn State (2014) and New Hampshire (l1994). North Carolina will look for its first NCAA berth.
Â
Florida will open regional competition on the uneven bars.
Â
In addition, four all-around competitors (who are not on a qualifying team) and two individual specialists per event advance to each of the six regions. The all-around competitors and event specialists came from within the region. North Carolina State junior
Chelsea Knight is paired with the Gators for regional competition.
Â
For the fourth consecutive season, the seeding determined at the time of regional selections will be maintained throughout the championships. Standard bracketing procedures will be followed with teams seeded 1, 4, 5, 8, 9 and 12 placed on the left side of the bracket and teams seeded 2, 3, 6, 7, 10 and 11 placed on the right side of the bracket.
