Florida (16-9, 2-4 SEC) won the first meeting against Florida State (18-7, 6-3 ACC) with a 1-0 shutout victory in Gainesville on March 14. Four UF freshmen combined to limit the Seminoles to just four hits and no runs in the first meeting between the two teams. Dating back to last year's Super Regional, Florida State has not scored a run on Florida in 31 consecutive innings. UF has shut out FSU three straight games (5-0, 7-0, 1-0).

Freshman Garrett Milchin will be making his first career start for Florida on the mound. He has pitched 7.1 innings on the year with two earned runs allowed and nine strikeouts.
