Gators Head to the Music City

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--The Florida baseball team is in Music City this weekend for a three-game series at Vanderbilt, beginning Thursday night.

The series opener is Thursday at 9 p.m. live on ESPNU. Game two on Friday night is 7:30 p.m. (SEC Network+) and the finale will be Saturday at 3 p.m. on ESPN2.

SERIES HISTORY

Florida holds the edge all time over Vanderbilt with a 135-71-1 record, including a 54-41-1 mark when playing in Nashville. Head coach Kevin O'Sullivan is 22-11 against the Commodores. O'Sullivan has won six of nine series against VU, including two of four in Nashville.

QUICK HITS

Florida has played an incredible number of close games this season, with an 11-7 mark in one-run games. The Gators have played six straight one-run SEC games with a 4-2 mark.
Sophomore Brady Singer has been outstanding in 2017. He has not allowed more than two earned runs in any of his eight starts and has averaged 7.0 innings pitched per start.
Senior Ryan Larson has been on fire lately, hitting .500 (11-for-22) over the past five games. That may spell trouble for the Dores, as Larson has a career .389 average (7-for-18) against Vanderbilt in three seasons.
Junior JJ Schwarz has been on the upswing after a slump to start the season, with 10 of his 21 RBI coming in his last 10 games. He has also had success against VU in his career, with a .333 average (10-for-30) with five RBI, a triple and a home run.
