
Florida Selected to NCAA Columbus Regional as No. 1 Seed

ORLANDO, Fla. – Florida women's golf team was selected as the No. 1 seed for the 2017 NCAA Women's Golf Columbus Regional. Hosted by Ohio State University, the event will be held at the OSU Golf Course from May 8-10.
The No. 5 Gators will be attempting to advance to the NCAA Championships for the 27th time in school history.
The NCAA selected a total of 72 teams and 24 individuals to participate in Division I Women's Regionals May 8-10 at four different locations. The top six teams and three individuals from each site will advance to the NCAA Championship May 19-24 in Sugar Grove, Ill. at Rich Harvest Farms.
This year's women's championships will be broadcast for the third consecutive year by Golf Channel with more than 100 news and tournament hours planned again for the men's and women's golf championships.
The Gators are coming off a win at the Southeastern Conference Championship, where they broke the team tournament total by six shots with a 22-under (842).
Kelly Grassel, Maria Torres, Karolina Vlckova and Taylor Tomlinson all finished in the top-15 at the SEC Championship. Grassel finished in third place, tying the lowest round in event history with a career-best seven-under (65) in Sunday's final round.
