Gators Ready for Four-Game Home stand

After spending all of last week away from Gainesville, the Florida baseball team returns to McKethan Stadium this week for four home games.
Florida had perhaps its best week of the season, going 4-0 and improving to 20-9 on the season and 5-4 in SEC play. All four wins came away from home and against Top 25 opponents.
In its second meeting of the season against No. 10 Florida State, Florida won 4-1 in Jacksonville behind another outstanding pitching effort. Over the weekend, the Gators traveled to No. 23 Missouri and swept the Tigers in three, one-run games.
After starting SEC play 0-3, Florida has won five of the last six league games and is 5-4 through the first nine games. Overall, the Gators have won seven of their last eight games.

OTHER NOTABLES:
- Last week, Florida posted an incredible 1.00 earned run average in four games, allowing just four earned runs in 36 innings. The staff limited opposing hitters to a .177 average on the week.
- Sophomore Michael Byrne has settled into a relief role and was lights out last week, earning a save in all three of his appearances with one hit allowed in 6.2 innings with six strikeouts.
- The middle of the Florida lineup (Schwarz-Maldonado-Rivera-Hicks) combined to hit .368 (21-of-57) over the past week with nine RBI, three home runs and a .579 slugging pct.
- Christian Hicks hit a team-best .429 (6-for-14) last week and had a pair of stolen bases.
- JJ Schwarz also broke out of his slump, batting .400 (6-for-15) with 3 RBI, 3 runs scored and one home run.
- Mike Rivera continued to swing a hot bat (.333, 5-for-15) and led the team with 5 RBI last week.
- Freshman Garrett Milchin made his first career start and pitched 4.1 scoreless innings against Florida State to earn the win.
- Brady Singer pitched his second straight complete game, allowing one run on just three hits at No. 23 Missouri.
- Alex Faedo went 7.2 innings with one earned run allowed to improve to 5-1 on the season.
