
Ingildsen, Perez End NCAA Tournament Run in Round of 16

ATHENS, Ga. – Both Alfredo Perez and Johannes Ingildsen have been eliminated from the NCAA Individual Tournament. The duo lost in the doubles Round of 16, while Perez fell in the Round of 16 on Friday (May 26).
No. 8 Perez faced UNC's No. 16 [9-16] William Blumberg in his morning singles match, pulling ahead at the end of the first set to win 7-5. Blumberg found his momentum in the second set, taking an early lead to win 6-4 and send the match to a third set. The Tarheel kept his momentum to gain an early lead once again in the third set, following through until the end to win 5-7, 6-4, 6-3.
The No. 2 [3] team of Ingildsen/Perez was upset in the second round of the doubles tournament, falling to Baylor's No. 22 Benitez/Little. The two teams remained tied through the entire first set, with Florida's duo winning in the tiebreak to take the first set.
In the second set, Baylor held the lead for a majority of the set, starting it off by winning the first two games. Florida then held serve and went up a break to tie 2-2, but the Bears came back to win the second set 6-2. In the 10-point tiebreak, Baylor earned an early lead and held on to win the tiebreak and win the match 6-7, 6-2, 10-8.
