Barry Selected to Receive NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship

Canyon Barry has been named a recipient of the NCAA postgraduate scholarship, the 55th Florida student-athlete to earn the award and the Gators' fifth men's basketball player in program history.
The NCAA's postgraduate scholarship program awards up to 174 postgraduate scholarships annually. The $7,500 scholarships are directed to 29 men's and 29 women's student-athletes three times per year, corresponding with the fall, winter and spring seasons. Barry is one of four men's basketball players included among the Winter 2016-17 honorees.
Barry was named the CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year this season, the sport's top academic honor, and maintained a 4.0 GPA as a graduate student in nuclear engineering. On the floor, Barry was the SEC Sixth Man of the Year and the Gators' second-leading scorer, averaging 11.4 points per game.
