Gator Reads: Del Rio Battles, Robinson Arrives, More Camp Stories

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Call him The Forgotten Quarterback. Call him whatever you want. There's a good chance Luke Del Rio won't hear you.
The redshirt junior is "in the plans" according to head coach Jim McElwain, but what that means remains to be seen. With redshirt freshman Feleipe Franks atop the depth chart out of spring camp and newcomer Malik Zaire energizing the position battle over the summer, most fans have moved on.
Del Rio started six games a season ago and went 5-1. He also got beat around like a punching bag and his season ended early due to various injuries. Let's take a look at some fresh links from around the internet covering the Gators, starting with a couple of stories on Del Rio from a pair of veterans on the Florida beat:
-- Don't count out forgotten quarterback Del Rio just yet writes Gene Frenette of the Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville.
-- Can't Blame Del Rio is the headline in The Gainesville Sun story by columnist Pat Dooley.
-- Even opponents fall victim to Tim Tebow's charm writes Tampa Bay Times sports columnist Martin Fennelly, who is on Tebow duty as the former Gators quarterback makes a stop in Tampa.
-- Tim Tebow's most memorable plays at Florida from Edward Aschoff of ESPN.com.
-- Freshman wide receiver James Robinson joined the team on Friday after his enrollment was delayed writes Zach Albolverdi of SECCountry.com.
-- Gators offensive line improving through cheese fries writes Ethan Bauer of The Miami Herald.
-- Chauncey Gardner driven to raise his game, bolster UF secondary writes Matt Murschel of The Orlando Sentinel.
-- A look at how the paths of Gators quarterback Malik Zaire and former Notre Dame/FSU quarterback Everett Golson cross over:

The only thing I want to see in Del Rio's hands is a clipboard.

Malik Zaire & Everett Golson faced this same big challenge when transferring from #NotreDame to #Gators, #FSU. https://t.co/mp2cd2s7Ee
