3D Court Projection Planned for Florida-Florida State

Florida's permanently-installed 3D arena projection system will debut Tuesday night prior to the Florida-Florida State match.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Prior to the start of Tuesday (Sep. 19) night's Florida-Florida State volleyball match, also known as the Fresh from Florida Sunshine Showdown, fans will have a chance to experience the latest use of the permanently installed 3D arena projection system.

The court-projection technology, which the University Athletic Association partnered with Quince Imaging to obtain for permanent installation, made its Florida Gators debut during the pregame festivities as the men's basketball team's win over Kentucky in February.

"We're committed to bringing Florida fans and student-athletes a unique and exciting experience at our events, and this is another way we are delivering an experience unlike anything else in college sports," said UF athletic director Scott Stricklin upon the partnership's announcement in August.

Quince Imaging, the frontrunner in the new wave of sports entertainment, utilizes 3D projection image mapping to bring sports venues to life in real time.

First in the industry to design a 3D imaging solution for sports arenas, Quince has installed more permanent sports imaging systems in North America than any other vendor, including venues such as Philips Arena, Prudential Center, Quicken Loans Arena, Wells Fargo Center and Chicago's United Center.

Quince Imaging has collaborated with diverse clientele, spanning the broad spectrum of professional and university sports leagues and associations, affiliated with the NBA, NFL, MLB and NCAA.

UF's Exactech Arena / Stephen C. O'Connell Center is the first university-specific athletic venue to have Quince technology permanently installed. Old Hat Creative also assisted with the composition of Tuesday's court projection.

First serve for the match is scheduled for 6 p.m.
