Dudley Hart brings over 20 years of PGA Experience to Gators
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida men's golf program announced the addition of Dudley Hart to the Gators' staff as a volunteer assistant coach on Wednesday.
"It's a great honor to add University of Florida alumni Dudley Hart to our coaching staff," Coach JC Deacon said. "To have a 25-year PGA Tour veteran watching over and elevating our program is invaluable."
Hart, a 2003 UF Hall of Fame inductee, was a member of the of the UF golf team from 1987 to 1990. Over his four years, Hart earned Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year honors in 1987, was a three-time first-team All-SEC selection and a four-time All-American.
He is one of five Gators in program history to be a four-time All-American and was the first of eight to earn SEC Freshman of the Year Honors.
In his senior season (1989-1990), Florida was just two stokes away from claiming the national championship.
Hart went on to have a decorated professional career which included two PGA Tour victories at the 1996 RBC Canadian Open and the 2000 Honda Classic.
That year, he would rise to 21st in the world rankings, his highest ranking on the Tour.
"Dudley has spent his entire adult life around the best players in the world, that knowledge is a game changer for our student-athletes," Deacon said. "More importantly than his on course achievements, Dudley is an amazing person. He is a passionate family man and fits seamlessly into our up-beat culture. We are so grateful to have Dudley join us and appreciate his generous support."
