Gators Remain in national polls

Florida is ranked No. 22 in the latest Associated Press Top 25, which was released shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Gators are 24th in the Amway/USA Today Coaches' Poll.
Florida opened the season 17th in the AP Top 25 but lost to No. 11 Michigan 33-17 on Saturday in Arlington, Texas. Michigan moved up three spots to No. 8 after snapping the Gators' 27-game win streak in season openers, which was the longest active streak in the country.
The Gators face Northern Colorado from the Big Sky Conference on Saturday in their home opener. The Gators have won 27 consecutive home openers.
However, with Hurricane Irma gaining steam in the Atlantic, UF and University Athletic Association officials are closely monitoring the Category 5 storm's path.
Alabama remains atop the AP Top 25, followed by No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Clemson, No. 4 Penn State and No. 5 Oklahoma. Alabama and Florida are joined in the AP Poll by Southeastern Conference brethren LSU (No. 12), Auburn (No. 13), Georgia (No. 15), and No. 25 Tennessee.
