Second player of the week nod for the junior transfer
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Jalen Hudson was named as the Co-SEC Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday.
Hudson averaged 19.0 points per game in the Gators two SEC games this week which included a game-high 17 points in the win over Kentucky on Saturday.
He sealed the Gators win in Lexington by sinking two free throws with 31 seconds remaining to make it 66-61. On the other end, his lone block of the game came with 2.5 seconds remaining when PJ Washington went up for the potential game tying layup.
On Wednesday, Hudson nearly recorded a double-double when he pulled down a team-high nine rebounds against Arkansas to go along with 21 points in the victory. This was the second time this season he led the Gators in rebounding.
Hudson has posted double-digit points in all but two games this season (8, Dec. 30, 2017 vs. Vanderbilt and 9, Dec. 6, 2017 vs. Loyola-Chicago).
