
Torres set to make LPGA Tour debut

Former Gator one of 109 players in the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic
GAINESVILLE, FLA. -- Former Gator Maria Torres will make her first appearance as an LPGA member this week.
She is one of 109 in the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic field. The event in Paradise Island, Bahamas kicks off the 2018 tour schedule. Torres is scheduled to tee off round one at 7:32 a.m. ET along with Tiffany Joh and Hannah Green.
Torres earned full-time status on the LPGA Tour in December after winning a three-way playoff grabbing the last of the 20 spots on tour.
Torres, who was a two-time All-American during her time as a Gator and 2016 SEC Individual Champion, becomes the first Puerto Rican born full-time LPGA Tour player. She will join Sandra Gal as the second Florida player currently on the Tour.
Gal is not in the Bahamas Classic field.
