Florida tops the Razorbacks in four sets in return to Exactech Arena

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 11 Florida Gators topped the Arkansas Razorbacks in four sets on Sunday afternoon in Exactech Arena.
The Gators move to 20-5 on the year and 11-2 in the SEC, while Arkansas drops to 10-12 overall and 4-8 in league play.
Florida clinched its 1,000th win as a program today, becoming just the third Division I school to collect 1,000 wins since 1984 – Penn State, Nebraska. 844 of those wins have come under Mary Wise's tenure.
Paige Hammons paced the Gators' offense, finishing with a career-high 16 kills. Three other Gators found themselves in double-digit kills: Taelor Kellum (12), Rachael Kramer (10) and Mia Sokolowski (10).
Allie Monserez led the team setting with 44 assists. The redshirt senior also posted two kills, two blocks and two service aces on the afternoon.
Allie Gregory controlled the backcourt for Florida, posting 15 digs on the during the match.
As a squad, the Gators registered 12 blocks, including a team-best seven from Taelor Kellum. Rachael Kramer added five of her own, while Paige Hammons and Holly Carlton both notched four apiece.
Hammons's 16 kills and 10 digs puts her at three double-doubles this season.
The Gators have now won at least 20 matches in each of the 28 seasons under Mary Wise.
Florida is back in action next Sunday as the team travels to Auburn to take on the Tigers. The match will air on the SEC Network, with first serve slated for 1 p.m.

How It Happened
- The first set was knotted 9-9, but Arkansas went on a 6-1 run to take the advantage into the media timeout. Florida tied the frame at 17-17, but was unable to swing the momentum its direction for the remainder of the set, allowing Arkansas to go up 1-0 in the match.
- The Gators hit .194 in the first set, collecting 11 kills along the way. Paige Hammons and Taelor Kellum both pitched in three kills during the frame.
- With the second frame tied 6-6, the Gators went on a 4-1 run to take the 10-7 lead. With the 16-10 advantage, Holly Carlton led UF on four-point service run to extend the lead to 20-10 and Florida closed out the frame with a service ace by Allie Monserez.
- Florida hit .542 in the second frame, holding Arkansas to a .074 hit clip. Paige Hammons led the way with five kills in the set, followed by three from both Taelor Kellum and Mia Sokolowski.
- The Gators started out set three on a five-point service run by Paige Hammons to go up 7-1. Late in the set, Florida held the 17-10 advantage, but the Razorbacks chipped away at the deficit to get within three points at 23-20. Paige Hammons notched back-to-back kills to close out the frame and give Florida the 2-1 lead in the match.
- UF had another great hitting performance in the set, recording a .407 hit clip to go along with 15 kills. Paige Hammons once again led the way with five kills, followed by four from Rachael Kramer.
- Florida got out to an early 13-7 lead over the Razorbacks in the fourth set and although Arkansas got within three points at 13-10, the Gators were able to put together seven kills and force four errors to hold on to the lead and close out the match.
- Florida hit .333 in the final set, led by three kills apiece by Holly Carlton, Paige Hammons and Taelor Kellum.

- "Mary got us together in the second set and told us to play for one another. We wanted to play especially hard for Allie Monserez and Taelor Kellum with this being their senior season."
- "We have been working a lot on getting into a rhythm and staying in that rhythm. In the first set, we were a little rocky from start to finish, but once we started the second set we got into the rhythm and got more hitters involved. Mia Sokolowski did a great job coming in off the bench and our DSs – Riley Fischer and Paula Cerame – made some great plays tonight to help us get the win."
