Gators Move Up on Second Day of Northrop Grumman

Carlotta Ricolfi and Sierra Brooks sit in top 20 entering final day
PALOS VERDES, Calif. --ย The Gators moved up two spots on the leaderboardย Monday leaping No. 11 USC and No. 12 Northwestern.
Florida who carded a team score of 293 (+9) shaved three strokes off it's first day total to move into a tie for sixth at the Northrop Grumman Challenge.
Sophomore Sierra Brooks was the big mover on day two of the event jumping up 22 spots after shooting a 71 (E). Brooks is currently 4-over par for the tournament and tied for 18thย on the leaderboard.
Fellow sophomoreย Carlotta Ricolfiย joins Brooks inside the top 20 as a 2-over par day. Ricolfiย currently has a team-low 3-over par and is in a tie for 14thย on the leaderboard.
She is the only Florida player and one of just three players in the field to record 10 or more birdies in the event. Ricolfiย circled the scorecard five times on Monday including a string of three straight on holes 9 through 11.
The tournament in Palosย Verdes, Calif. concludes tomorrow with the third round of play beginning at 12:00 p.m. (ET).

"Overall, I thought we had a better day. We lost a little focus at the end that caused us to lose some shots but, I thought we were tougher and more determined. We had some small victories today that I think are very important for our future and will help us build confidence." -Coach Emily Glaser
