Florida opened the season with a sweep of Siena in Gainesville...While UF's pitching strong as normal, the Gators' offense produced 36 runs on 44 hits (.396 average)…The 36 runs were the most in a three-game series since scoring 38 against South Carolina in 2015…21 of Florida's 44 hits went for extra bases: 14 doubles, 1 triple and 6 home runs…10 Gators made their debut over the weekend, including four that earned starts…Blake Reese paced the offense with a team-high 7 hits and 5 RBI, going 7-for-12 in three games with 5 extra-base hits…Nick Horvath started the first two games and went 5-for-8 (.625) while Nelson Maldonado went 6-for-10 (.600) with 4 RBI…At the plate, newcomers contributed 12 hits (.353 average) and 9 RBI…Four freshmen saw action on the mound and totaled 5.0 innings without allowing a run; they struck out 9 batters with just two walks and 3 hits allowed…Florida's trio of starting pitchers combined for 20.0 innings with 3 earned runs allowed (1.35 ERA) and totaled 21 strikeouts to two walks…Brady Singer went 7.0 innings with one unearned run allowed on two hits while Jackson Kowar struck out 10 batters through 7.0 innings on just 89 pitches…Tyler Dyson allowed one earned run through 6.0 innings.PITCHER OF THE WEEK:
