The Gators improved to 15-3 after a sweep of Rhode Island over the weekend. Florida hosts FSU on Tuesday night and will open SEC play next weekend at South Carolina.

KEY NOTES OF WEEK:

Florida improved to 15-3 on the season with a sweep of Rhode Island in its final non-conference weekend series…The Gators dropped a pair of games to UCF in a home-and-home midweek series…The pitching staff was dominant once again against Rhode Island, posting a 0.67 earned run average…Only one of the seven pitchers who took the mound against the Rams allowed an earned run…Offensively, Jonathan India carried the team against URI, hitting .600 (6-for-10) with three doubles…Nick Horvath went 5-for-11 (.455) with three doubles and a home run; on the week, Horvath led the team with a .389 average (7-for-18) and eight runs scored…Nelson Maldonado had a team-high eight RBI last week, including his first career grand slam on Friday night against URI; he extended his team-best hitting streak to eight games before going hitless in game two of Saturday's doubleheader…Brady Singer was dominant over seven innings, allowing just two hits with eight strikeouts, and combined with Nick Long (1.0 IP) and Connor Churchill (1.0 IP) for the Gators third shutout of the season in a 9-0 win over Rhode Island…Tyler Dyson lowered his team-best ERA to 1.07 with 6.1 scoreless innings in UF's 9-2 win…Jackson Kowar went 7.0 innings with two runs allowed on two hits with nine strikeouts; he has a team-high 27 strikeouts on the season…In two games against UCF, the Gators were humbled at the plate and on the mound…UF hit just .190 (12-for-63) with nine runs scored (4.5 per game) and had a 6.88 ERA (13 ER allowed in 17.0 innings).

  • Singer improved to 4-0 on the year with a dominant performance in the series opener against Rhode Island
  • The Rams recorded just two hits off him for a .095 batting average against
  • On the season, Singer has a 2.08 ERA and racked up 25 strikeouts to just 3 walks thus far
